More about this game
In Don't Look Back, you run endlessly through a dark, glitchy corridor. Your goal is to survive as long as possible by jumping over floor spikes and ducking under hanging hooks. The game starts at a base speed of 520 and constantly accelerates by 18 units every second, making timing more difficult. Random jumpscares flash a grotesque face on the screen, trying to break your focus. A run ends immediately if you hit any obstacle, recording your final distance score.
Tips
- Obstacles spawn exactly every 760 units of distance, so get ready to jump or duck as soon as you clear the previous hazard.
- The speed ramps up by 18 units every second. You have a 0.11-second grace period to jump after leaving the ground, so use it if you react late.
- Every fifth obstacle has a slight rhythm offset of 190 units, which changes the timing of your jump or duck slightly compared to the standard gap.
Questions
How do I duck under the hooks?
You can duck by holding the Down Arrow on a keyboard, swiping down on a touch screen, or holding the bottom left corner of the screen while running.
What happens when the screen flashes?
The screen flashes and shows a scary face as a random jumpscare. It does not hurt your character, but the sudden noise and image can distract you from the obstacles.
When do the jumpscares happen?
The first jumpscare happens randomly between 5.6 and 11 seconds into your run. After that, they trigger randomly every 5.5 to 14 seconds to keep you on edge.
