More about this game

Neon Block Marathon challenges you to stack falling glass tetrominoes on a 10x20 grid. Your goal is to fill horizontal lines to clear them and score points. As you clear every 10 lines, your level increases, causing the blocks to drop faster. You can hold one piece in reserve to use later. The run ends when the stack reaches the top of the board and a new piece collides with it.

Tips
  • Use the hold feature (C key or tap the hold panel) to save a straight piece for clearing four lines at once.
  • Soft dropping a piece gives you 1 point per row, while a hard drop awards 2 points per row.
  • Clearing multiple lines in a row builds a combo, adding a bonus of 50 points times your level per consecutive clear.
Questions

How does the speed increase?

The game starts with a drop time of 900ms. Every 10 lines you clear, your level goes up, and the drop time is multiplied by 0.82, down to a minimum of 70ms.

How do I score the most points?

Clearing four lines at once awards the highest base points (1200 times your level). Hard dropping pieces and maintaining a combo also significantly boost your score.

Can I hold a piece?

Yes, you can hold one piece at a time by pressing C, double-clicking the board, or tapping the Hold panel. You cannot swap again until the new piece locks.
