The goal is to protect the Ancient Forge and survive for two minutes and thirty seconds against waves of elemental spirits. As you defeat enemies, they drop essences used to craft and upgrade weapons like the Ember Maul or Tempest Tongs. Every 25 seconds, the forge awakens, offering new weapon bindings. Difficulty increases as elite enemies spawn and scale in health. A run ends in victory if the timer runs out, or in defeat if the blacksmith or the forge loses all their health.

- Save six mixed essences for the Ancient Ritual, which becomes available every 70 seconds and can fully restore the forge's 180 health.
- Focus on upgrading one weapon type to level III to unlock its legendary evolution, which inherits a second elemental effect.
- Ash Golems and Living Anvils have 45% more health than standard enemies, so prioritize them before they reach the forge.

How do I heal the forge?
You can heal the forge by performing the Oath of Iron ritual. This requires six mixed essences and fully restores the forge to its maximum 180 health while halving incoming damage for 18 seconds.
What are souls used for?
Souls are earned based on your total kills, crafted weapons, and surviving the run. You can spend six souls on the end screen to unlock the Tempered Heart upgrade, granting 25 extra maximum health.
How do I get a Masterpiece weapon?
If you have crafted at least two weapons, there is a 3.5% chance during a forge awakening to discover a Masterpiece. This mythic weapon fires a piercing crown of all five elements.
