More about this game

In this interactive story, your goal is to support Jack after the Stair Incident without turning him into a helpless character. You read the scene and select from three dialogue or action choices. Each choice affects Jack's Agency (starting at 52) and the Trope Meter (starting at 18). The difficulty lies in balancing care with respect for his independence, as taking over his life heavily penalizes you. The run ends after exactly five scenes, giving you a final verdict based on your final stats.

Tips
  • Avoid choices that take over the situation or act out of fear; they increase the Trope Meter by 16 to 20 points and lower Agency.
  • Look for options that ask questions or offer choices to boost Jack's Agency by 12 to 16 points, keeping the steering wheel in his hands.
  • Keep the Trope Meter below the 55-point warning threshold to prevent it from turning red, which indicates you are falling into harmful narrative clichés.
Questions

What happens if the Trope Meter gets too high?

If the Trope Meter reaches 55 or above, the number turns red as a warning. A high Trope score of 78 or more at the end leads to the worst ending, where care becomes control and revision is required.

How do I get the best ending?

To get the best ending, finish the five scenes with Jack's Agency at 60 or higher and the Trope Meter below 65. This results in the Continuity held ending, proving you stayed close without taking the story from him.

What does the Fourth-Wall Breaker do?

The Breaker provides live notes before you choose and comments on your selection afterward. You can also tap the Breaker's portrait during a scene to trigger a custom commentary message based on your current Trope Meter level.
