How to play
- Read the trivia statement presented on the screen carefully to evaluate its truth.
- Select your confidence level: Not Sure (x1), Pretty Sure (x2), or Absolutely (x3).
- Choose whether the statement is a Fact or Fiction to lock in your answer.
- Read the explanation to learn why the answer is correct or incorrect.
- Keep your streak alive to earn bonus points and advance to higher levels.

Fact or Friction tests your general knowledge across various categories like Science, Geography, and Nature. Before answering, you select a confidence multiplier (x1, x2, or x3). Correct answers earn points based on the base value (starting at 10) multiplied by your confidence, plus streak bonuses. Incorrect answers deduct points and cost you lives. A higher confidence multiplier means you lose more lives if you are wrong. The run ends when you lose all 3 lives.
Tips
- Use the x3 multiplier only when you are absolutely certain, as a wrong answer will cost you two lives instead of one.
- Build a streak of correct answers to earn a streak bonus, which adds five points for every three consecutive correct answers.
- The base points increase from ten as you level up, so surviving longer and maintaining your three lives naturally leads to much higher scores.
Questions
How do I lose lives?
You lose lives when you guess incorrectly. If your confidence is set to x1 or x2, you lose 1 life. If it is set to x3, you lose 2 lives.
How do I level up?
Your level increases based on the number of questions you have answered and your current streak. The formula adds 1 level for every 4 questions answered and every 5 streak points.
What happens when I run out of lives?
When your 3 lives are gone, the run ends. A game over screen will display your final score, level, and best streak, and you can restart.
