More about this game
In Echo Market: Memory Trade, your memories act as currency. You must bind at least three identity anchors by making four-way moral choices across five different city districts, spending your memory percentage to do so. As you make choices, your personality shifts between traits like Compassionate or Ruthless, and NPCs remember your actions. You must also manage a 5x5 spatial backpack to pack items that alter encounters. The run ends when you unlock the Nameless Gate, or if your memory drops to zero.
Tips
- Packing the three-block Ward Lantern in your 5x5 grid halves the default 7% memory cost taken by night Echoes during the later turns.
- Packing the single-block Memory Vial allows you to automatically recover 4% memory after making a risky trade in any district except the Gate.
- The final Gate choice normally costs 8% memory, but it costs 4% less if you acquire and pack the three-block Gate Key.
Questions
What happens if my memory reaches zero?
If your memory drops to zero, or falls to 18% before you secure any identity anchors, your identity is completely erased and the game ends in failure.
How do I get identity anchors?
You gain identity anchors by making specific choices during district events, like helping Mara or the Ferryman. You need to gather at least three anchors to unlock the Nameless Gate.
Why do night phases cost memory?
The game cycles through Morning, Afternoon, Night, and Midnight. During the Night and Midnight phases, Echoes follow you and drain 7% of your memory unless you pack the lantern.
